Just something I wrote this weekend.

Forsaken Feelings

Time had passed with naught to feel

Numbness was my name

Feelings, joys, were all forgotten

I was lost and broken and lame.

Then arose a day of healing

Time for thoughts and pain to wake

Feelings I had long forsaken

Filled my heart and made it ache.

And in an instant, I had to choose

To face and welcome feelings’ pain

Or turn my back on life’s new path

And lose once more the ground I’d gained.

My choice shines clear, I now seek peace

Thus let me safely by God’s grace

Stand and walk through future’s gate

And feelings, once forsaken – now with joy embrace.
